Clare leading a sensory exploration of the Turner Prize on behalf of Engage.

Clare Hume MEd (Learning & Teaching in the Arts). Clare, a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, is a well established Teaching Drama Artist, working in an Inclusive Arts context.

For over a decade, she has been collaboratively creating performance with her adult students of Cosgrove Theatre Players and ShowDowns! Theatre Players, as supported by Cosgrove Care and Down’s Syndrome Scotland, respectively. Clare is also the resident drama teacher at New Struan, a residential Scottish Autism school. And works with University of Strathclyde’s Law Students in honing their courtroom presence.

Throughout Clare’s career, her focus has been on creating quality art and memorable learning experiences, for everyone.

She has shared her technique with postgraduates, studying their Diploma in Education, at the University of Strathclyde. .

In between her workshops at the National Museum of Rural Life, she directed several of the Edinburgh International Science Festival touring shows for schools.

And, after her mini residency at Trongate 103 Galleries in 2011, she established a niche in Visual Art education for a wide range of groups. Her work has featured in the following Visual Art Festivals and Initiatives...Perspectives at Scottish Maritime Museum, Glasgow International, The Turner Prize, Generation (25yrs of Scottish Artists), Below Another Sky (a collaboration of Scottish printers and Creative Scotland) and Everyone (Engage Scotland).

She has been privileged to have explored works by Turner Prize Finalists, Bedwwyr Williams and Mike Smith (all Tramway) Nathan Coley (GOMA), Toby Paterson, Michael Fullerton and Calum Mackenzie (all Glasgow Print Studio), Cameron Morgan (Project-Ability) and Leonardo Da Vinci (Queen's Gallery, Holyrood), to name but a few.
